The tiramisu is the Italian dessert par excellent and its land of origin is Treviso. Let’s know its history!
The Italian dessert comes from the “sbatudin”, an energetic mixture of beaten egg yolk with sugar. The dessert originates from the costume of Veneto of dipping dry cookies called baicoli in mascarpone cream mixed with whipped cream. From this simple habit and from common ingredients, the pastry chefs of Treviso created the Tiramesù recipe, from the dialectal expression “tirame sù” which means “cheer me up”, known in Italian as tiramisu.
The legends regarding the origins of the recipe are many, but one thing is sure: the award for the best tiramisu goes to the Veneto region!
